MARVA Marriage Encounter is a non-profit interfaith organization promoting healthy marriages in the Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC area. MARVA is affiliated with National Marriage Encounter

The mission of MARVA Marriage Encounter is to promote and encourage marriage and family life by offering Marriage Encounter weekends to husbands and wives of all faiths or of no religious affiliation, and to provide a support community to those couples who have been "encountered." MARVA Marriage Encounter provides the atmosphere and opportunity to deepen a marriage relationship through self-reflection and intimate communication as a couple, and provides the atmosphere and opportunity for couples to grow in their relationship with God, as understood by them.

MARVA Marriage Encounter hosts weekends twice a year providing married couples the opportunity to improve communication in their marriage.

Our weekends derive inspiration from many different faith traditions. While our weekends have a spiritual element, we welcome people from all faiths or no faith. The only requirement is an openness to experience your spouse more fully.
